Have I told you how much I love Thanksgiving?
It is, quite possibly, my favorite meal get together of the year.
I want to share with you my favorite gravy recipe of all time. It is easy, it is efficient, it is delicious!
All you do is reserve 1/4 cup of bacon grease the next time you cook bacon. About and hour before your turkey is done, start basting your turkey with the bacon grease.
You will simply be making the gravy from the turkey drippings as normal, but now it will be infused with the most succulent yet subtle bacon flavor.
And listen, we all know I am no chef. I can not cook worth a darned, so anytime I come across an easy, yet delicious recipe, I have to share.
Hence, the gravy.
And now, the stuffing!
Swanson broth is hosting the coolest contest this year... you have to check it out! It is called, "The Great Stuffing Debate". I had NO idea there was so much controversy about stuffing (apparently only known as dressing in some parts of the country) but these guys have asked all the right questions for you to find out what your ideal stuffing/dressing is!
As well as conquering the age old debate once and for all, Swanson broth is offering an amazing giveaway in addition to some wonderful and useful coupons!
Wanna know what the amazing giveaway is? You can win $500!
Thats right, you can totally win FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! Hello awesome Christmas gifts this year!
I loved looking around the Swanson site and seeing all the variations of stuffing... I literally had no idea they would be so diverse!
But, as I mentioned, I am one lazy and un-organized cook, so I looked for the simpliest recipe I could find.
Not only was the recipe easy to comprehend and execute, it is absolutely dreamy. Moist and flavorful and savory and divine.
Swanson's Quick and Easy Stuffing
(modified slightly)
1 1/2 cups of Swanson Chicken broth
Generous dash of fresh ground pepper
1 small onion finely diced (about 1/4 cup)
1/2 cup canned whole cranberries
4 cups Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Stuffing
HEAT the broth, black pepper, and onion in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
ADD the stuffing and mix lightly.
ADD 1/4 cup of cranberries and fork-fold into mixture.
Enjoy!
To enter to win the FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (sorry, I cant help but yell it) all you need to do is leave a comment here.

We call it dressing -- doesn't get stuffed in the turkey -- just gets made on the side. And it is divine. My favorite part of the meal.

I LOVE Thanksgiving. I never liked stuffing as a kid, but then I finally grew up and tried it (yup, that's right I'd never tried it and still insisted that I hate it) it's my favorite part of the meal. And it's even better the day after and heated up on the stove with turkey and gravy. Thanksgiving Goulash as we call it. :)

Stuffing/Dressing is my favorite part of the year! It's a shame we only eat it once a year. What a fantastic giveaway.
