When I saw that my dear friend Alice from SavorySweetLife blogged on how to make Homemade Peppermint Patties, I knew immediately that I wanted to try. I adore peppermint patties and never knew I could make them at home!
That and the fact that I am pregnant and want easy, premade snacks for guests visiting the baby and it was a sure thing that they would be prepared.
I am trying to save some for the big day, but its tough. They are GOOD!
Now. I did absolutely nothing to Alice's perfect recipe, so if you want to try these out I highly recommend using hers. She gives excellent instructions as well, so I highly recommend checking out her post.
It truly is easy and fun!
However, one thing I did want to do was to personalize them.
So I decided to get some blue candy melts in honor of this soon-to-be-here baby boy!
I also made some into stick form.
These are actually for a bridal party! What a fun and inexpensive and beautiful way to have personalized mints for favors.
Both versions taste delicious... and I cant wait to make these for Easter and Thanksgiving and Christmas and birthdays and Tuesdays! ;)
I hope you will try these and fall in love with this simple snack as much as I have!
I bookmarked that SAME recipe from Alice! Yours look just as amazingly delicious! Love the blue and wedding ideas!

I just discovered her blog last night! I tried her classic buttercream frosting....wowza! It's some serious good stuff! I couldn't believe how smooth it turned out! Between your blog and Alice's blog I'm doing some serious baking! I made your sugar cookies for my sister-in-law's bday this weekend and my husband said he thought that batch was by far the best he's ever tasted! Even my brother-n-law who hates sweets ate two of these cookies! He couldn't believe how good they were...that blew my mind because he rarely will ever eat any kind of dessert! I baked up 2 dz for my daughter's bday party in a few weeks because these freeze fabulously! Thanks for all your wonderful blogging! P.S. I'm making your delish chocolate cake for my daughter's bday! It is so yummy!

You are so creative, my dear! A year or two ago, I made peppermint patties and you are so right, they are addicting. You eat one, and then the taste resonates on your palette and then you need another, and another, and another! Mmmm! I think making these for a "Tuesday" is the best occassion of all to create these little gems!

Your giveaway is such a great idea and has inspired me, too, to do something more. I'm not entering your contest, but will use this gentle nudge to do the same for my friends, neighbors and family. Everyone is struggling today; maybe I can add a smile. Thank you!

I have attempted these before, but made the HORRIBLE mistake of using mint extract instead of peppermint and ew. toothpaste patties! I will try with this recipe. They are beautiful btw~

My favorite candy is peppermint patties as well. There is hardly a grocery store run where one doesn't get snatched up at the checkout. I try to hide the wrappers in the car but my kids always find them and smirk at me. I've never tried anything like this but thats what all of this blogging is making me do! Try new things!
A baby boy! Wonderful. I had one of those and now he is 14! Good luck for the next couple of weeks while you are waiting.

Love your blog and love to see others thinking about others. I am thinking of my mom who does so much for our family and is now in FL taking care of her Mother in Law for 2 weeks.
Posted by: Kari | Mar 14, 2011 at 11:33 PM
I love your personalizations! Peppermint patties are the one candy I'll occasionally indulge in at the checkout aisle. They're part breath mint anyway, right? :-)

Love peppermint patties (yeah, my name might have something to do with that LOL...my nickname is Mint). I make them about twice a year, at Christmas and on hubby's birthday (because he loves Mint Patti(es) too ;). This is different from the recipe I have (mine has butter, evap. milk and uses Lorann peppermint oil)...might have to give these a try next time. Perhaps for my daughters bridal shower! :) Thanks for sharing the recipe!

What fun....especially the blue ones. So cute to say I DO TOO! :)
I am not entering your contest for fear I would win and screw up my diet!

Hi, just want to let you know that I found another recipe that doesn't call for as much sugar but it probably won't be any good for those with coconut allergies.
Posted by: Helen | Mar 15, 2011 at 11:29 PM
Oh, these look incredible! I definitely have to make them ASAP. Having a dinner party for my hubby's 30th birthday next weekend, and I'm thinking they'd be lovely on the table. :)

Posted by: grace | Mar 18, 2011 at 02:14 AM
These looks so delicious, I needed to try. I don't know where it went wrong but the sugar part, there wasn't ever enough sugar and didn't came out like modeling clay - never :P How much is the one can of condensed milk? :) I think I might have had too big can.
