I love these! It's sort of like making your own candy buttons, too! Good creativity! We have spring fever, too, and will be trying these soon!

Amanda, you're my hero!! These are EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! I needed something I could use as "rocks" for an aquarium cake I'm making and this will be PERFECT! Good job!

Kathia

Thanks so much for sharing this great idea. I love the fact that I can make then in any color I want.

Gwendolyn

Here a Sprinkle, there a Sprinkle, everywhere a Sprinkle! What a GRrrrrreat idea! My grandaughter will love this. I can barely wait until the weekend so I can bake!

Wow, I never even imagined making my own sprinkles. Your cake looks so pretty! Thanks for the great link, Amanda! I've never been to Kitchen Daily and I like it:)

Shaina

This is fantastic! I have always disliked the flavor, too. I want to make my own sprinkles now.

Sylvie @ Gourmande in the Kitchen

Homemade sprinkles?! That's genius, I'm headed over now to check it out.

marla {family fresh cooking}

Homemade sprinkles?? Great idea & such a pretty cake. I will go check it out over at Kitchen Daily.

Joy

This really brightened my day. I mean, it truly did. I needed that burst of color. Thank you my friend for sharing your talent!! The cake is gorgeous!

Tracy

Amanda, what a fantastic idea, making your own sprinkles! I can't wait to try it. And, this cake is so lovely...a perfect burst of color for spring!

kathleen

Great idea and wonderful photos!

Renee

I made homemade sprinkles once out of leftover marshmallow fondant. Yours are very pretty & colorful :)

Danielle

Beauttiful! as always! so clever and pretty! x

Stephanie

This is amazing. Would they work well INSIDE a cake? I get orders for confetti cupcakes all the time and this would be so much cheaper then always buying sprinkles!

the urban baker

you are everywhere, girlfriend! I love seeing you spaning the virtual globe. So proud to call you my friend! x

Rowaida Flayhan

Simply beautiful looks delicious!

Taz

wow, that's so clever! Definitely trying this!

Kait

Tasty!

I like the spaces of white with the pops of color.

And I DO want to know how to make my own sprinkles.
The ones I find always taste stale. Yuck,
I think I'll try this whole thing in cupcake form, test your recipe for that.
Perhaps it will quell my own spring fever.

Thanks for sharing!

Breville Je95XL

It really looks so lovely! Thanks for sharing this rainbow cake of yours. :D

SweetSugarBelle

This is so darn pretty...and ur in big trouble for telling me I can make sprinkles! Who knew! Bernie is going to faint when he hears that's on my to do list!

Gwendolyn

So sweet- do you think they could be baked into a white cake to make rainbow sprinkles inside the cake?

bridget {bake at 350}

Is there anything you CAN'T do?!?!?!?

René

Dude. You are my hero.

Bourbonnatrix

This is a beautiful cake. I've filed your picture under "inspiration". Thanks!

Love the rainbow cake, but I am still back on those pancakes. Good Lord. How divine!

Tahnk you for everything you share with us !!!

Mirjana

Can these sprinkles be stored? If so for how long? I would like to make this and prepare the sprinkles ahead of time.

grace

there are far too few god-made rainbows for my tastes, so i'm all for a woman-made one now and then. :)

Diane {createdbydiane.blogspot.com}

so pretty! Great idea. I've tried making long lines and breaking them up, my kids think they are fun. Yours look beautiful!

Loved seeing you on your frosting video, 9 months? Hmmm....I forgot when you are due, I know a few people due in a couple weeks :) exciting. Did you decide on a name yet?
You look amazing and a natural in front of the camera. If that is you nervous, you pull it off well. I turn beet red :)

Ariana

I love all of your ideas! You're so creative!! And I'm a sucker for rainbows so I think I will be trying this out for sure!

Also, I was wondering what kind of camera you have, you take such beautiful, clear pictures. I'm a pastry student and I do cakes on the side. I would looove to know your thoughts on any good cameras. The camera I have is so outdated and takes horrible pictures. If you could let me know I'd really appreciate it, keep up the great work, thanks!
