Thanks for including one of mine! I want to make every single one of these desserts and I kind of want to eat them all by myself. ;-)

how do you decorate and make beautiful pastries, home school your kids, write provocative posts, and still manage to get your laundry done? could you write a post on that? xx

Oh my goodness, these photos are the definition of "food art" - absolutely beautiful and I am sure the taste is well... out of this world. Very good thing I can't crawl through the computer screen!!!

Such an amazing line up!! Good thing I know you for reals - 'cause you would intimidate the heck out of me. You are the ULTIMATE baker. I think you might end up on TV one day ;)

So many gorgeous and lovely ideas!

I know the sugar cookie post is from a while ago, but it looks like the perfect cookie recipe... http://iammommy.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/12/dont-let-this-happen-to-you.html

I lost the one I used to use for cut out cookies when I moved from Ireland and I just can't remember the quantities.

I have a couple questions... Firstly, if I don't have the almond extract will it be gross without? Should I add a little extra vanilla?
Also, does the dough freeze well? I'm thinking about making it in advance but I have made some doughs before that just don't like to be frozen.

I'm thinking about making hubbie some cookies for valentines day - I know he'd appreciate it since I haven't done much baking since I've been pregnant!

What a beautiful feast for the eyes! Here is a fun treat I make for Valentine's Day: http://comeandpeek.blogspot.com/2009/02/chocolate-peanut-butter-hearts.html

Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll try the strawberry filled cupcakes, they're about my speed. Valentine's day will be great and you can have the credit.

Hi Amanda, I made the Valentine's Cake (over a 4 day period!) ~ a few flops, but finally got it all glued together. Not much of a baker, but this was a great project. My Mom in South Africa quilts, ~ perhaps I was inspired in a similar way here :) ... I am on a strict diet (Bootcamp), so decided to give this cake to 2 of my dear friends who became engaged over Chirstmas. My musician friend and my hairdresser ~ they LOVE the cake! I have not yet seen the inside heart, but they promised they would send me a pic. I will send you a photo show of the making of the cake, put to my musicians own composition "Love is Free, This Christmas". I will email you a copy of the photo show.

Thanks for the great recipe ~ it is currently my FaceBook page (the cake).
