that's awesome amanda!!

This is absolutely one of the most dramatic and beautiful cakes I can remember seeing in a long, long time. I LOVE it!

That last picture is strikingly beautiful!
Will you be handing pieces of delicious chocolate snake cake out to your trick-or-treaters? You would totally win the most popular home ever!

LOVE it! You are so creative and come up with such wonderful ideas! Have a Happy Halloween!

Xiaolu @ 6 Bittersweets

Wow really creative. The last photo is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this great idea with us!

That last photo is just breathtaking, as is the entire cake and post. You are such an artist!

That is just so freaky! And the smoothness of the frosting on the cake itself is just breathtaking.

Very cool!! I'm not one for snakes....but this is really something:)

I always enjoy your posts, and your photos!! The last photo in this post is just incredible!!

Jessica @ How Sweet

I was quite a... handful last night and I think my husband would have liked to give me this cake. This is too cool.

Very interesting, cool, and chocolatey...I want some!

marla {family fresh cooking}

I'll take your orders if you give me a slice of this Medusa Cake!! Love it. You are so creative girl. I would just pick off all those snakes and dip 'em in frosting. You know I LOVE to think outside the box, as do you ;) Dig the dark & mysterious shot on the bottom!

meaghan (chic cookies)

This. Is. Awesome.

megan @ whatmegansmaking

What a great idea! And I think I could actually attempt this design :) Love it :)

SO very cool! Happy Halloween my friend!

Stephanie Meyer

Stunning! And hopefully not too bitter ;)

the urban baker

Lauren @ Crave. Indulge. Satisfy.

Another great cake! What a fabulous idea, love the chocolate sprouting from the top! Happy Halloween!

Pretty artsy cake Amanda. Great job. You have a fun Halloween too. Next year you'll have one new little trick-or-treater. :)

I wish I saw this earlier! I just had a Halloween party last night and I was dressed up as Medusa. Still, I love how simple the design is, yet it's still visually impressive.

Tracy Grant

This looks delicious and scary! I love it!

Jen @ My Kitchen Addiction

That is a FABULOUS cake. I love it! Can't wait to see what you do with Thanksgiving and Christmas... I'm on the edge of my seat (err couch).

i like snake cake 'cause it rhymes, but medusa cake is much more fun and fitting. this is really clever, amanda, and it looks great.

WOW - you are so incredibly talented. This looks STUNNING!!!

Erin Johnson

Amanda, this is such a cool cake. I love the simpler styled cakes (probably because I'm still learning how to even frost a cake smoothly). I have been following your blog of a while now and too live in the twin cities and love, love, love to bake cookies and cakes. I even attempted the rainbow cake (except using different colors) for my daughter's 2nd birthday. You are truly talented and it's a joy to see what you're creating. I'm praying God's protection and blessings over you and your pregnancy.

This looks delicious. I love chocolate and this is just the best cake. I really, really love it. Just beautiful.

sheila @ Elements

How creative! I love it! :)

I tried something similar to this recently but on a much smaller scale. I made chocolate cups and wrapped them in PhotoFrost sheets so that you would not get chocolate on your fingers. Then i added my filling and piped some chocolate onto wax paper to make the crazy hair. thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to the holidays and some cooler weather.
