I had no idea what to do for Audreys first birthday cake! I sorta just made this up as I went along...
It was pretty easy to do, just lines up the side meeting on the top.
I think if I were to do this cake again, I would pay more attention to detail and make sure everything was symmetrical and straight!
Looks yummy! Happy Birthday Audrey! How's Mama doing celebrating her little one's first birthday?! It is always bittersweet for me. Sniff. Sniff. :)

Happy Birthday Audrey!
Wow! What a beautiful cake. Is that buttercream frosting? I tried chocolate buttercream frosting for the first time on Gary's birthday this past Thursday. It was pretty good! Did you use 3 cake mixes for this one? This cake looks a lot taller then the ones you usually make.
So glad you all had fun on Audrey's birthday. Looks like she had a blast too!

I actually kind of like that the lines are not perfectly straight...
Beautiful cake.

I like how your cakes match. Match as in, the outside matches/compliments the inside. Wouldn't it be fun(ny) to do a tacky cake! But I guess a big part of eating something is that it *appeals* to your appetite visually. This might not be the case for a tacky cake :)

I LIKE that the lines of this cake aren't as straight! It makes it more playful and less formal - perfection for a girlie 1st bday cake!!
Love your site here. I used to bake cakes and decorate cookies aaaall the freakin' time, and then sold most all my tools on eBay. You are inspiring me to get back to this mess!
